Major Funding Commitment: The Rockefeller Foundation and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet jointly committed over US$100 million to the Mission 300 initiative. This ambitious plan, led by the World Bank Group and African Development Bank, aims to provide electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030. The Rockefeller Foundation contributed about 47%, and the Global Energy Alliance 53%. The commitment has grown more than tenfold since the initial US$10 million pledge in 2024 and supports efforts in 23 African countries.
